The European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) Action Groups are gearing up for the European Microfinance Week (EMW) where they'll gather for their annual meetings on 16 November and share their latest findings in panels organized on 17 - 18 November. In anticipation of EMW, the Microfinance & Environment Action Group and the Digital Innovations for Financial Empowerment Action Group have released the following publications.

Colombia, Peru tied for first place in new report on global financial inclusion
The 2016 Global Microscope on Financial Inclusion shows that essential policies for bringing financial services to low-income groups are now widespread in the developing world. Nine of the 12 financial inclusion indicators covered in the benchmarking index improved globally in 2016, building on gains made during the last decade.

An initiative that seeks to enhance consumer protection and promote responsible financing has been launched in Kigali. The second phase of the Responsible Finance through Local Leadership and Learning programme also seeks to promote financial transparency in the microfinance industry.
