A new automated chronic medicine dispensing system is on the way. The Technovra system took first place at the Samsung South Africa Launching people- Mixed Talents competition, it is a pilot project for the national Department of Health.

His company, thinkIT, has developed Matibabu, a non-invasive device used to test for malaria, with smartphones used for diagnosis.

Agriculture Entrepreneur from Madagascar wins $25,000 2016 Anzisha Grand Prize for African Youth Entrepreneurship
African Leadership Academy (www.AfricanLeadershipAcademy.org) and The MasterCard Foundation (www.MastercardFdn.org) are pleased to announce Heritiaina Randriamananatahina, 22 year old agriculture entrepreneur from Madagascar, as this year’s winner of the $25,000 Grand Prize in the sixth annual edition of Africa’s premier award for youth entrepreneurship. Heritiaina is the founder of Fiombonana, an agro-processing enterprise that manufactures dairy products and confectioneries using only Malagasy raw materials, employing farmers and providing local job opportunities.

Nigeria Set to Resume Vaccine Production, Eyes $280m From Export
The Chairman of the National Immunisation Financing Task Force Team (NIFT), Dr. Ben Anyene told the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in Abuja yesterday, that when fully in production, vaccines from Nigeria will cater for seven million children. They could also yield $280 million in export.

Ecobank Launches Ecobank Mobile App to Transform Banking in Africa
Ecobank (Ecobank.com) has launched the Ecobank Mobile App, an instant and convenient way of banking via the mobile phone. It is the first unified app delivered by any institution for use in 33 countries. Group CEO, Ade Ayeyemi unveiled the new App at a large product launch in Lagos, which brought together a wide range of customers, including students, various professionals, traders and transporters. Ecobank board members, shareholders, staff and media were also present at the event.
