Experts Call for Global Research Fund for Antibiotics, Ebola and Other Neglected Diseases
There were no drugs to treat Ebola in the outbreak that devastated three west African countries, other diseases of the poor are neglected and the pipeline of new antibiotics has dried up. Experts are calling for a $10 billion fund to pay for research and development ahead of the World Health Assembly in Geneva next week.

Acumen announces its new investment in Ignis Careers andStandard of Excellence in Education and Development (SEED) to improve the current state of low-cost, private education in India. India has the largest kindergarten to 10th grade system in the world with more than 1.6 million schools. More than 96 percent of children, ranging from ages 6 to 14, are enrolled in school. However, the quality of education is poor, and half of the children in Grade 5 can only read at a Grade 2 level.

Citi will once again help thousands of young students across the country receive basic financial education as the bank supports American Bankers Association's (ABA) annual Teach Children to Save campaign for the 15thconsecutive year. The national program, designed to encourage local youth to develop positive financial habits early in life, marks April 24th as Teach Children to Save Day to raise awareness of the importance of teaching children about saving. Beginning in March and continuing for months after Teach Children to Save Day, hundreds of Citi volunteers will teach thousands of children in grades K-12 in classrooms and after-school programs in financial education events in major cities across the country.
